Public Interest Law Centre

SLF funding was awarded to Public Interest Law Centre and Latin American Women's Rights Service for pre-litigation research into the government's failure to provide migrant survivors of domestic abuse with access to accommodation enabling them to escape their abusers.

PILC exists to challenge systemic injustice through strategic litigation, campaigning and legal education in solidarity with dispossessed, racialised and excluded individuals and communities. PILC specialises in public law, claims against public authorities and public inquiries. We also use advocacy, communication & research to challenge oppression and expose unjust policies & practices.

LAWRS are a human rights, feminist organisation run by and for Latin American migrant women living in the UK. They support 5,000 women every year who are exposed to violations of their fundamental human rights, facing violence against women and girls, exploitation in low-paid sectors, trafficking, or enduring severe poverty and deprivation.
