Funders

The Strategic Legal Fund is funded by Trust for London, Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust, Paul Hamlyn Foundation and Unbound Philanthropy.

Trust for London is an independent charitable foundation tackling poverty and inequality in the capital. The Trust has a long history of funding work to overcome the additional barriers faced by migrants living in poverty in London. Trust for London provides part-funding for the SLF.

Esmée Fairbairn Foundation is one of the largest independent grant-makers in the UK, aiming to improve the quality of life for people and communities throughout the UK both now and in the future. The Foundation makes grants of £30 – £35 million annually towards a wide range of work within the arts, education and learning, the environment and social change. It also operates a £21 million Finance Fund which invests in organisations that aim to deliver both a financial return and a social benefit. Esmée Fairbairn Foundation provides part-funding for the SLF.

Unbound Philanthropy is a private grantmaking foundation dedicated to ensuring that migrants, refugees, and their families are treated with respect and dignity; are able to contribute fully in their new communities; and can ultimately thrive in a society that is comfortable with the diversity and opportunity that immigration brings. Unbound provides part-funding for the SLF.

Paul Hamlyn Foundation is one of the larger independent grant-making foundations in the UK. It aims to maximise opportunities for individuals to experience a full quality of life. In particular it is concerned with children and young people, and others who are disadvantaged. It provides part-funding for the SLF.
